Who we are
As the governing body for pickleball in South Africa, Pickleball SA exists to ensure the sport is unified and governed with excellence. Our mission is to develop and sustain a dynamic, integrated system that enhances participation, competition, and achievement at every level. Aligned with international standards, we strive to bring pickleball to the forefront of the South African sports community.

As the leading governing body for pickleball in South Africa, Pickleball SA exists to ensure the sport is unified and governed with excellence. With its unique ability to bring people together, Pickleball South Africa is committed to fostering the growth of pickleball as an inclusive, accessible sport. PSA works with local clubs, schools, and communities to grow not only a sport but a movement.
PSA is currently governed by an Interim National Executive Committee (INEC) in accordance with the constitution.

There are also sub committees in place to allow for specific goals and deliverables. The sub committees are lead by INEC members with support from individuals within the pickleball community who expressed interest to get involved.

The main segments identified within the sport and the approach to each from a governing body perspective are:
Discovering Pickleball
Provide players, coaches, and leaders with the tools and support they need to develop fundamental skills and introduce organized pickleball to their communities. Improve awareness of Pickleball in South Africa as a sport.
Recreational Pickleball
Promote pickleball as a fun and engaging activity for health, fitness, social connection, and community development. Create inviting campaigns to attract people to ‘try a game’ and showcase the inclusivity of the sport to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Competitive Pickleball
Help players develop the skills to compete in ethical and supportive environments, while ensuring coaches and officials receive the training necessary for high-quality preparation and officiating. Develop the necessary control measures and systems to ensure that tournaments and competitions are organised and hosted in on a world class level.
High-Performance Pickleball
Encourage wide participation in national and international competitions, showcasing the best of South African talent. Create awareness of the global opportunities within the sport. Ensure that systems and procedures in the governing structures are implemented and developed to ensure recognition by SASCOC and be eligible for consideration of Olympic participation.
Pickleball for Development
Position pickleball as a catalyst for social and economic development by promoting positive values, fostering healthy lifestyles, and building vibrant, active communities across South Africa.
As the administrative body of the game of Pickleball in South Africa, we are building national structures to support the game’s development, including district and regional associations on the basis of professionalism, non-discrimination and access to players, clubs and schools across economic and cultural backgrounds.
Pickleball South Africa is a member of the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) [link : https://globalpickleballfederation.org/] and the Confederation of African Pickleball (CAP) (https://www.cafricapickleball.com/).
